Page 14: July: Hot Air Balloons

Provo has the tradition of flying hot air balloons July 3-5. This year there were about 23. The pilots participate in various contests, such as attempting to pop helium balloons with large sticks while flying, as well as throwing sandbags at a large target on the ground. Most of these pictures need no explanation; they're just aesthetically pleasing. Enjoy!

I got up at 6:30 AM for this?!
Inflating the balloons

That's a strange shape for a hot air balloon!
What the...?

It's a wonder they don't catch the balloon on fire
FIRE!

More FIRE!
Whoa...

Oink!
Whoever said pigs couldn't fly was WRONG!
